Liver in Systemic Mastocytosis (SM): Portal triads are the main site of mast cell infiltrates and show fibrotic enlargement. Despite the fibrosis, cirrhosis usually does not occur and should not be considered a consequence of mast cell infiltration. In addition to mast cells, periportal areas may show lymphoid infiltrate that can mimick low-grade lymphomas.
