Follicular Dendritic Cell Sarcoma : Microscopic
Comments:
Follicular Dendritic Cell Sarcoma (FDCS) is composed of spindle, oval, or epithelioid cells arranged in fascicular, storiform, whorled, or diffuse growth patterns. The tumor cells are admixed with small lymphocytes and plasma cells. The degree of nuclear pleomorphism in FDCS is variable and is generally higher in recurrent or metastatic tumors as compared to the original lesion. Large, irregular hyperchromatic nuclei with pseudoinclusions and multinucleated or Reed-Sternberg-like cells may be present. Mitotic activity is variably increased. Atypical mitoses may be seen.
