Primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma (PCFCL) vs Systemic/Nodal Follicular Lymphoma (FL) with Secondary Cutaneous Involvement - Differential Diagnosis (continued).

Features favoring Systemic/Nodal Follicular Lymphoma:

  • presence of B symptoms; lymphadenopathy
  • Positive for CD19, CD20, CD22, CD79a & HLA-DR
  • Positive for surface IgM with light chain restriction
  • strong CD10, BCL2 & BCL6 immunoreactivity
  • t(14;18) translocation present in almost 90% of FL but only occasionally in PCFCL
