MALT Lymphoma : Plasmacytic Differentiation
Comments:
Plasmacytic differentiation is frequent in MALT lymphomas (33% of cases) and some cases resemble extramedullary plasmacytomas. These cases frequently have a serum paraprotein. There may also be amyloid deposition. This image is from a MALT lymphoma of thyroid. It shows two atrophic thyroid follicles containing colloid in the center surrounded by neoplastic B-cells with plasmacytoid appearance.
