Comments:
Hashimoto Thyroiditis & Thyroid Lymphomas: Hashimoto thyroiditis is an autoimmune disorder that is associated with a 40 to 80-fold greater risk of developing thyroid lymphomas as compared to the control population. Diffuse large B-cell lymphomas make up 60-90% of lymphomas in this setting, whereas MALT lymphomas account for 10-30% of cases.

The image shows some of the classic features of Hashimoto thyroiditis, including lymphocytic infiltration of the gland, large lymphoid follicles with germinal centers, and small atrophic thyroid follicles lined by oncocytic cells.
