Comments:
These 'before' and 'after' images show dramatic changes in the face of a patient with systemic sclerosis. The interval between the photographs was about 5 years. There is skin atrophy, marked thinning of the lips, beak-like nose, and perioral furrowing and wrinkling. The patients are often unable to open their mouth fully.

The lower eyelids may be stretched tight and the skin over forehead may appear smooth with loss of creases.
