Comments:
The characteristic lesions of discoid lupus erythematosus are erythematous plaques with scaling that are present on the sun-exposed areas of the body. The most commonly affected sites are cheeks, the bridge of the nose, ears, neck, and scalp. There is follicular plugging, with keratin plugs being attached to the undersurface of the scales.
