Keratoacanthoma : Histologic Features

Keratoacanthoma has a characteristic appearance on cross section at low magnification. It is symmetric and has exophytic and endophytic components. It has a hemispheric shape with overhanging edges and a keratin-filled crater in the center. There is abrupt transition to normal epidermis.
