Melanotic Neuroectodermal Tumor of Infancy
Comments:
Melanotic Neuroectodermal Tumor of Infancy (MNTI) showing melanin-containing epithelioid cells forming nests, trabeculae and pseudoglandular arrangements associated with clusters and sheets of neuroblastic cells. Prognosis:The vast majority of cases behave in a benign fashion but about 5%-10% of cases metastasize (liver, bone, lymph nodes, or spinal cord) and up to half of them recur if incompletely resected. The metastases usually consist of the neuroblastic component.
