Comments:
Mesothelioma displays a wide variety of morphologic patterns which have been broadly classified into epithelioid, sarcomatoid, and biphasic (mixed) types with further division into subtypes. Epithelioid malignant mesothelioma is the most frequent histologic type. It consists of polygonal, oval, or cuboidal cells arranged in tubulopapillary, acinar (glandular), adenomatoid (microglandular), and solid patterns. The papillae have fibrovascular or hyalinized cores which may contain psammoma bodies.
