Mesothelial hyperplasia may result in the formation of tubulo-glandular structures in submesothelial tissues. This image was taken from the wall of an inflamed hydrocele. Sometimes, these mesothelial-lined glandular structures are accompanied by stromal response and may be mistaken for invasive carcinoma.
