Endocervical Adenomyoma

Comments:
Mucinous epithelium lines the irregularly shaped gland embedded in smooth muscular stroma. The differential diagnosis includes minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (adenoma malignum). Features favoring adenomyoma include: circumscription of the tumor, polypoid architecture, evenly spaced glands, lack of cytologic atypia, absence of perineural and vascular invasion, and no desmoplastic response.
