Comments:
Steroid cell tumor, NOS. The tumor is present just beneath the ovarian surface; note the overlying cortical stroma. It is composed of diffuse sheets of tumor cells with pale-staining lipid-rich cytoplasm. Islands of tumor cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm are also seen.
