Comments:
Introduction: Some thecomas contain single cells or clusters of steroid-type cells (lutein cells) with abundant clear or eosinophilic cytoplasm and vesicular nuclei with prominent nucleoli. They have been previously called luteinized thecomas, a term that is no longer recommended according to the WHO Classification of Female Genital Tumors, 5th Edition. However, a rare subtype, termed luteinized thecoma with sclerosing peritonitis, is recognized a distinct entity.
