Comments:
Introduction: Granulosa cell tumor (GCT) of the ovary belongs to the category of sex cord-stromal tumors that show differentiation towards granulosa cells of the ovarian follicle. There are two subtypes - adult GCT and juvenile GCT.

Adult GCT, mostly seen in peri- and postmenopausal women, accounts for 95% of all GCTs and makes up 1-2% of all ovarian tumors.

Juvenile GCT, which occurs in children and younger women (<30 yrs), makes up the remainder 5% of all GCTs.

The image shows characteristic microfollicular pattern of adult GCT showing numerous Call-Exner bodies lined by multilayers of granulosa cells with grooved nuclei (coffee bean appearance).
