Comments:
Microcystic/reticular pattern: This is the most common architectural pattern in yolk sac tumors of the ovary and testis. It consists of a honeycomb-like meshwork of anastomosing spaces and cystic areas (right half of image) lined by flat or low cuboidal tumor cells. These spaces are often filled with basophilic myxoid material.

In other foci, the tumor cells have large intracellular vacuoles, compressed nuclei and delicate strands of interconnected cytoplasm creating a spider-web like arrangement (left half of the image), frequently containing hyaline globules. Microcystic pattern often coexists and intermingles with myxomatous and solid patterns.
