Microscopic Features of Ovarian Carcinoids - Insular Pattern: The tumor are arranged in solid nests separated by scant fibrovascular stroma. The nuclei are uniform round or oval in shape and have salt and pepper chromatin. Mitotic figures are not seen. The overall appearance resembles midgut carcinoids seen in the appendix and small bowel.
