Struma Ovarii : Introduction

Introduction: Struma ovarii is a monodermal teratoma composed of mature thyroid tissue. Scant thyroid tissue can be found in 5% to 15% of ovarian teratomas. When the tumor is composed almost entirely of thyroid tissue to the exclusion of other cell types, it is referred to as struma ovarii. Struma ovarii comprises 3% of ovarian teratomas.
