Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Comments:
Dilated cardiomyopathy secondary to Doxorubicin in a 2 y/o male. The patient received the chemotherapeutic agent to treat neuroblastoma. There is marked dilation of the left ventricle with rounding of the cardiac apex. Sections showed hypertrophy of the cardiac muscle fibers and diffuse endocardial fibrosis in the left ventricle and left atrium. Image copyright: pathorama.ch.
