Comments:
Frequently, the Schwann cells in Antoni A areas show nuclear palisading, whorling patterns, and Verocay bodies.

Verocay bodies are formed by a highly ordered arrangement of Schwann cell nuclei in rows separated by fibrillary processes as nicely illustrated here. The Verocay bodies are interspersed with hypocellular Antoni B areas composed of haphazardly arranged spindle cells in myxoid stroma. Occasional mitotic figures may be present.
