Calcifying Aponeurotic Fibroma : Gross Pathology

Gross Pathology: Calcifying aponeurotic fibroma is a small, ill-defined, rubbery to firm, tan-gray lesion with white flecks of calcification that impart a gritty sensation on cutting. The lesion infiltrates into the surrounding fat, skeletal muscle, and soft tissues. Older lesions are more circumscribed grossly, although they also appear infiltrative on microscopic examination.
