Comments:
Choriocarcinoma has a propensity for early metastases via hematogenous route. Patients usually have advanced disease at the time of presentation. The most common metastatic sites are lung, liver, gastrointestinal tract, brain, spleen, and adrenals.

The image shows metastatic choriocarcinoma in the lung. The patient presented with a solitary lung metastasis which was resected. There was a 4.0 cm hemorrhagic, partly cystic mass in the right lower lobe.
