Comments:
Paget Disease of Bone (PDB) - Sclerotic Phase (late, burnt-out): Both osteoclasts and osteoblasts are less active during this phase. The bony trabeculae appear irregular, thick and plate-like with a mosaic pattern created by basophilic cement lines. The cement lines may not be prominent (as in this case) due either to excessive decalcification or staining artifact. Bone marrow appearance is relatively normal or may show fibrovascular tissue.
