Comments:
Paget Disease of Bone (PDB) - Mixed Osteolytic & Osteoblastic Phase: The bony trabeculae become irregular, thick and appear plate-like. Note the prominent basophilic cement lines as well as microcracks. There is an overall increase in bone mass in PDB, however, the newly synthesized woven bone is disorganized and structurally weak with haphazard collagen deposition. It is at an increased risk of deformities and pathologic fractures.
