Comments:
Paget Disease of Bone (PDB) - Pathologic Fracture: This plain radiograph (frontal view) is from an 80 y/o female with PDB. Four years earlier, she had presented with severe left hip pain, difficulty walking and bone deformity. Imaging studies showed signs of PDB and an incomplete transverse fracture along the lateral aspect of the cortex (see previous image). The current image shows a displaced complete transverse pathological fracture at the same site. Note the diffuse cortical and coarse trabecular thickening with bowing of left femur. The normal right femur provides a nice comparison.
