Comments:
Aneurysmal Bone Cyst (ABC) - Gross Pathology: The image shows ABC-like changes in association with osteosarcoma of rib in an adult male. There is an expansile, destructive, spongy lesion filled with blood. The yellow area on the left end represents the costal cartilage.

ABC-like changes comprise about 30% of all ABCs and may be seen in association with many benign bone tumors such as chondroblastoma, giant cell tumor, osteoblastoma, fibrous dysplasia, nonossifying fibroma, chondromyxoid fibroma, and rare cases of malignant tumors such as osteosarcoma.
