Comments:
Adenoid cystic carcinomas (AdCC) of the breast may sometimes show unusual stromal differentiation. In this image, cribriform nests of AdCC are surrounded by organioid structures composed of fat, collagen, and spindle cells. The adipose tissue elements are intrinsic to the tumor and do not represent breast fat infiltrated by the tumor. Note the presence of eosinophilic hyaline basement membrane material in some of the nests.
