Hashimoto Thyroiditis - Fibrous Variant

Comments:
High-power view of fibrous variant of Hashimoto thyroiditis showing lymphoid aggregates separated by dense hyaline fibrosis. Clinically, it can mimic cancer due to the presence of a firm goiter and pressure symptoms. Microscopically, the presence of small islands of metaplastic epithelium surrounded by fibrosis can further create confusion with cancer.
