In LCA, the tumor cells are arranged in normal or slightly thickened trabeculae interspersed with prominent arteries and thin-walled blood vessels with scant surrounding connective tissue; notably, these vessels lack accompanying bile ducts, as the presence of portal tracts excludes this diagnosis.
