Comments:
Cronkhite-Canada syndrome shows diffuse hamartomatous/inflammatory type polyps throughout the gastrointestinal tract with the exception of esophagus. The large bowel mucosa shows crypt distortion, dilated glands, edematous lamina propria, and a mixed inflammatory infiltrate. An important diagnostic clue is the presence of similar histologic changes in the intervening, non-polypoid mucosa.
