Comments:
Introduction: Peripheral giant cell granuloma (Giant cell epulis) is a common tumor-like lesion of the oral cavity that is thought to be a reaction to local irritation or trauma. It has also been referred to as peripheral giant cell reparative granuloma in the past.

Clinical Features: It occurs exclusively on gingiva or edentulous alveolar ridge as a purple-red nodular mass usually measuring under 2 cm in size. Mandible is affected slightly more commonly than maxilla. It is sessile or pedunculated and is sometimes ulcerated. The appearance is similar to pyogenic granuloma of the gingiva. It can occur at any age; the mean age range is 31 to 46 years. The lesion may cause resorption of the adjacent alveolar bone.
