Comments:
Usually an incidental finding in older men. Clusters of lipid-laden macrophages are seen. Differentiation from ‘hypernephroid” pattern of prostate cancer may be difficult. Xanthoma usually has inflammation nearby. The cells in question are negative for PSA and PAP and strongly stain for CD68.
