Comments:
Higher magnification shows granulomas with multiple intact thick-walled, non-budding spherules 20 to 60 µm in diameter within giant cells. Coccidioidomycosis is endemic in Southwest and western United States. Primay infection is asymptomatic in almost 90% of individuals. Some may develop fever, cough, pleuritis, lung lesions and skin lesions (San Joaquin Valley Fever).
