Collagenous Colitis : Trichrome

Comments:
A trichrome stain is useful in highlighting the thickened subepithelial collagen layer (black arrows) in collagenous colitis. The stain also shows its irregular lower border – a feature not seen with normal basement membrane. The red arrow points to intraepithelial lymphocytes.
