Comments:
As in the previous image, this liver parenchyma is marred by grossly-evident amyloid deposits, which manifest as pale waxy areas. The liver may be involved by primary (AL) or secondary (AA) amyloidosis and, histologically, both show abundant amorphous, acellular eosinophilic amyloid deposits, which can be confirmed by apple green birefringence on Congo Red staining with polarized microscopy.
