Comments:
Fibroepithelial polyps are not considered to be truly neoplastic but most probably represent hormonally-induced localized hyperplasia of the subepithelial stroma. The stroma may be hypo- or hypercellular and may show bizarre stellate cells and brisk mitotic activity mimicking a sarcoma (botyroid rhabdomyosarcoma); however, fibroepithelial polyps are rarely seen before puberty.
