Comments:
Hepatic angiosarcoma is the most common primary sarcoma of the liver in adults. It is nonetheless quite rare, comprising 0.1-2.0% of all primary liver malignancies. Only about 200 cases are diagnosed annually world-wide. Hepatic angiosarcomas make up about 6% of all angiosarcomas.

This photograph shows external surface of liver with angiosarcoma. There are multiple, ill-defined hemorhagic areas scattered throughout the liver. Image courtesy of: Dr. Ibrahim Zardawi; used with permission.

A more in-depth discussion of angiosarcoma is in soft tissue tumors.
