Pheochromocytoma : Nuclear Atypia

slide 34 of 60

Comments:
Pheochromocytomas frequently show atypical nuclear features, including striking hyperchromasia, giant nuclei, nuclear inclusions resulting from cytoplasmic invaginations, and bizarre forms. Many giant nuclei have smudged chromatin with a degenerative appearance. These changes are often distributed focally. None of these features signify aggressive behavior.
