Comments:
In addition to steatosis and steatohepatitis, long-term total parenteral nutrition (TPN) may result in cholestasis, hepatocellular damage, ductular reaction, fibrosis, and cirrhosis. This case of TPN-induced cirrhosis shows nodules of damaged hepatocytes with steatosis and inspissated bile, which are separated by fibrous bands containing inflammatory infiltrates and prominent ductular reaction.
