Comments:
Biphasic malignant mesothelioma consisting of epithelioid foci as well as sarcomatoid areas side by side. The differential diagnosis includes other biphasic tumors such as synovial sarcoma and metastatic pleomorphic carcinoma of lung. Biphasic and pure sarcomatoid mesotheliomas are quite rare in the peritoneal cavity in contrast to the epithelioid subtype and have a much worse prognosis than the epithelioid subtype.
