Comments:
Microscopically, laryngeal papillomas have papillary architecture with well-defined fibrovascular cores that are lined by well-differentiated squamous epithelium with orderly maturation. There is koilocytosis, mild cytologic atypia, and increased mitotic activity. The lamina propria usually shows mild chronic inflammation and hyperemia.
