Comments:
Primary signet ring carcinoma of the appendix is a highly aggressive cancer. More than 75% of cases show metastases to the adjacent organs, lymph nodes, or peritoneal cavity at the time of diagnosis. The treatment consists of appendectomy with right hemicolectomy. This may be followed by intraperitoneal and/or systemic chemotherapy.
