In the classic pattern of infiltrating lobular carcinoma (ILC), the tumor cells are arranged in slender linear strands usually no more than one or two cells across. Sometimes, the tumor cells are arranged in irregularly anastomosing broader bands creating a trabecular pattern as seen in this image.
