Comments:
Alcoholic fatty liver disease comprises a spectrum of pathologic changes, including uncomplicated steatosis, steatohepatitis, and cirrhosis. Diffuse hepatic steatosis results in pale, yellow parenchyma (as seen here) with greasy cut surfaces due to lipid accumulation. The risk of developing steatohepatitis and cirrhosis increases proportionally to the amount of alcohol consumed daily; genetic and other factors also influence disease progression.
