Comments:
This MRI scan (T2 weighted with fat saturation) is from the neck region of a 40 y/o male. There is a large, lobulated mass centred on the left parapharyngeal space, arising from the deep lobe of the left parotid gland. The lesion is isointense to muscle on T1, predominantly hyperintense on T2 and shows enhancement with contrast. There was moderate narrowing of the airway caused by medial displacement of the pharyngeal mucosal space. Case courtesy of Dr Alexandra Stanislavsky, Radiopaedia.org. From the case rID: 14618
