Comments:
Note the prominent vasculature which is responsible for the occasional complication of uncontrollable intraabdominal hemorrhage with fine needle aspiration. Immunohistochemically, these tumors show reactivity for a variety of neuroendocrine markers, including neuron-specific enolase (NSE), chromogranin A (CGA), synaptophysin, vasoactive intestinal peptide, and calcitonin etc. This tumor was positive for NSE and CGA.   return to Pheochromocytoma
