Comments:
About 15% to 35% of gastrointestinal (GI) lymphomas arise in the small intestine (the most common site is stomach accounting for 55% to 75% of GI lymphomas). Lymphomas make up about 25% of all primary small intestinal malignancies. The commonest location affected within small intestine is the ileum. The commonest type is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) followed by MALT lymphoma.

The image shows a DLBCL involving the terminal ileum in a 70 y/o male. There was a large, single, fleshy exophytic mass circumferentially invoving the full thickness of the bowel wall. Image copyright: pathorama.ch.
