Comments:
Renal angiomyolipoma (AML) in a 51 y/o female patient. The tumor was composed predominantly of mature fat and had a bright yellow-orange appearance resembling a lipoma. In addition, there were multiple small nodules of smooth muscle scattered throughout the renal cortex. Multifocality is seen in approximately 30% of AMLs and about 15% of cases are bilateral. Multifocality and bilaterality is frequently associated with tuberous sclerosis. Image copyright: pathorama.ch
