Cranial fasciitis is a variant of nodular fasciitis that involves soft tissues of scalp with erosion of the underlying bone. The most commonly affected age group is infants (usually in their first year of life). Some cases have history of trauma during forceps delivery. The histologic features resemble usual nodular fasciitis. The image shows a proliferation of spindle cells separated by collagen bundles.
