Papillary renal cell carcinoma makes up about 15% of all renal cell carcinomas. Most cases are sporadic. Some are hereditary and are associated with germline mutations of the c-MET oncogene. They are usually well-circumscribed and tend to be localized to the kidneys. Image copyright: pathorama.ch
